This Is The Time To Pray

My first ever single release (May 2020), written after a listener to one of my weekly Saturday night lockdown concerts sent me a poem by William Aubert Luce, wondering if I’d like to write a tune for it. The words are beautiful, strong, compelling, hopeful, and very appropriate to today, even though they were first published in the 1960s. Half the proceeds from any sales are being donated to Christian Aid’s COVID-19 appeal. Read more >

LISTEN … for Thy voice (2018)

LISTEN… results from my collaboration with the lovely people at The Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston, USA, who wanted to release material from one with some other songs as an album for their Reading Rooms. Of the 16 tracks, seven songs and three instrumental tracks also appear on one, with four new recordings of songs previously performed with The Newsong Group, and two new songs. You can buy the CD straight from your local Reading Room or the Christian Science Online Shop - or you can buy them from my shop by clicking the buttons.

This, my first solo album, is also the simplest: just me, my piano and my good friend Robert Rickenberg on double bass. It features seven songs and three instrumental tracks that went on to also be included on LISTEN… (above). The six songs that weren’t included on Listen can be downloaded individually or as a ‘Digital EP’ [2015]

Songburst: Hymns with a Beat!

A youthful, upbeat recording of some totally new hymns and some new settings to familiar words, all written by Andrew D. Brewis and Fenella Bennetts and performed by The Newsong Group. The recording features a choir of singers spanning three generations, and instruments including piano, drums, bass, guitar, sax, oboe and even marimba.
