Listen … for Thy Voice

My most recent solo album was produced alongside the lovely people at The Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston, U.S.A. The album combines songs from a previous album, ‘one’, with newly recorded material. It’s stripped back and simple: just me, a piano, and a double bass. I love it and hope you will too.

The compositions and arrangements are all new musically but the words include some familiar and much loved texts, such as The Lord’s Prayer, From Sense to Soul and O Lord I Would Delight In Thee.

There are several Mary Baker Eddy poems, including Christ My Refuge and Feed My Sheep, and other poems by Fenella Bennetts and Jill Gooding.

It’s a very soft, gentle, inspiring, and healing CD that can be used for church service solos. It also includes three piano solos, suitable for prelude and postlude music. It features me as composer, pianist and singer, and on several tracks I’m joined by my good friend and amazing musician Robert Rickenberg on double bass.

The more I write, the more I discover how music can spiritually prod and poke us: stirring, awakening and ultimately healing. For me this has been a journey of ‘listening’ I hope you find as much inspiration and healing in the “listening” as I have had in the composing.
